How to edit code files

In some cases if you ask us to fix a bug or make a tweak, we might provide you with instructions which require editing a code file.

Edit using file manager

1. Log into your hosting control panel (Often called cPanel)
2. Open the file manager
3. Navigate to the file you want to edit
4. Click "Code editor" or "Edit"
5. Save
6. Purge cache

Edit using FTP client

1. Open your FTP client (such as FileZilla)
2. Connect to your server
3. Navigate to the file you want to edit
4. Download it
5. Edit the file on your computer, you can use a code editor such as Notepad++, VS Code, Atom etc...
6. Save the file
7. Re-upload using your FTP client
8. Purge cache
